Before you take driving lessons, whether at Andy1st driving school Shrewsbury or a driving school near you, you must meet certain requirements first. In the UK, the government has set prerequisites before you start learning how to drive.
In the UK, you need to be at least 17 years of age before you can take driving lessons. If you want to start learning how to drive, and you are not 17 years old yet, then your driving lessons should only be conducted on a private land, which has to be gated and remote from all public highways.
Your driving instructor will ask you if you have certain medical conditions that might prevent you from taking driving lessons, or at least require you to get a doctor’s certificate. These medical conditions may include epilepsy, certain heart conditions, and people taking medications that may cause drowsiness. For a full list, you will need to consult with DVLA.
Your driving instructor will check your eyesight as well before you begin driving lessons. If you normally wear glasses or contact lenses, you will need to wear them when driving. It is best to have your eyes checked before you enroll in any driving course to be sure.
Another requirement before you start driving lessons is your provisional Driving License. You can get a provisional driving license three months before you turn 17, but it will not be valid and you cannot take driving lessons until you are 17.
